Exceptional breakfast with local produce and variety.
While the hosts were informative, the overall service felt rushed at times, leaving little opportunity for personal interaction. The dog-friendly policy was a plus, yet my dog struggled with the noise from nearby traffic, making it hard to relax. Lastly, I found the room's layout a bit cramped, especially with all our luggage spread out, which made it less welcoming than expected.

A cozy stay in the countryside
Waking up to the delightful aroma of a homemade breakfast set the perfect tone for our rural retreat. The hosts offered invaluable local insights that enhanced our explorations of the area's Neolithic sites.
Minor traffic noise in the early morning was a slight disturbance, and navigating to the B&B could be tricky without sufficient signage—definitely a place to prepare for the journey ahead.

Arriving at The Old Forge felt welcoming right from the start. The room, decorated beautifully, included thoughtful touches like a small fridge—perfect for our late-night snacks. Breakfast stole the show with freshly prepared scrambled eggs and local ingredients. It truly set us up for the day ahead. Enjoyed afternoon walks nearby, with easy routes to the Avebury standing stones just a stone's throw away. Our hosts were incredibly accommodating. they arranged a cab for us when mobile reception failed. navigating to the property proved challenging due to limited signage on the roads. the shared bathroom could have been more conveniently located. Despite these minor hiccups, the charm of the place and the hospitality made our stay memorable.
